DVSA approved driving instructors have gone through a rigorous process to earn that qualification. They have passed their own driving test to a higher standard than most drivers. They have passed a theory exam on driving instruction. And they have passed a practical teaching test as well. That is not something that happens overnight. It is a real credential that tells you the person teaching you actually knows what they are doing.
The Difference Good Teaching Makes
Beyond qualifications though, there is something harder to measure but just as important. Does your instructor make you feel calm? Do they explain things clearly? Do they know when to push you and when to back off?
Good teaching is not just about ticking boxes. It is about building a genuine skill in another person. And that takes patience, communication and real investment in how the learner is feeling, not just what they are doing.
Give Yourself Every Advantage
You are putting time, money and energy into learning to drive. The test itself is a significant moment. It makes no sense to shortchange yourself on preparation when the cost of doing it properly is relatively small compared to rebooking a failed test.
Do the mock test. Learn from it. And walk into your real test knowing you have already been there before.
